Insert World at War Here

"Here's your tea sirs." The waiter said as he set the contents of his tray down on the cobalt colored table in front of Pete and Joe, who was small talking.

"Thank you." Pete said to the waiter and returned his attention to his friend, to continue the conversation that had been going on between them, even before since they entered the café "So, you were saying?"

"Okay, so I'm walking around Tokyo city, just looking for a bite to eat, and this moth fangire jumps me and tries to suck my life-force, so I throw it back with a force push and activates my biosuit. You should have seen its face when I started kicking its ass." Joe said and grabbed a cookie from a plate that the waiter had had with him along with the tea.

"I can imagine." Pete said and grabbed a cookie himself. The conversation between the two agents went on for about half an hour, when they decided it was time to leave, so they paid the bill and left the Café.

"So, what are we gonna do now?" Joe asked as they walked through the futuristic city of their authors mind world.

"Well, I need to pick up a few packages at the post office. So, if it's okay with you…"

Joe thought for a second and then said "Fine by me. But I would like to get back to the society before it gets too late, you know so we can work on perfecting that double attack we've been working on."

"Okay with me." Pete said, before the two started walking towards a large, cobalt colored, dome shaped building not to far away. They entered the building, into a silver colored room with a desk at the opposite wall, and some flower chairs here and there for customers to sit in while they waited for it to be their turn. Luckily for the two agents, the room was empty at the moment, so Pete went straight up to desk, and handed a bundle of notes to the woman behind the desk.

A few minutes later, the agents walked out of the office with a ton of packages, which ranged from small, envelope like packages, to ones the size of moving boxes "Jeez Pete, what the hell is half this junk?" Joe asked as he set his load down on the ground.

"Well, some of it are comics, DVDs and games that I ordered…" Pete said as he put his own load down next to Joes and continued "As for the rest, I think it's parts for Himuros inventions. Anyway, let's get back to the library so we can get to work on that attack." Joe nodded and reached into the pouch on his back and pulled out the book, the two agents used as a gateway between their world and the society, which had been shrinked by the help of a special feature, which was activated by pressing the middle of the book. Joe pressed the middle of the book to deactivate the shrinking feature, and the book grew to roughly his size, he then proceeded to unlock the book so they could return to the society.

O-O-O

"Okay, let's try this." Pete said. He and Joe had dropped the packages off in Pete's room, and then proceeded to the training area, where they had been setting up the target dummy that they were going to use for their training. Pete summoned his belt and said "Henshin, darkness." The nanobots that was hidden inside the belt, started swarming out and formed into the upgraded Darkhopper suit.

Joe activated the containment unit for his biosuit, and was soon covered by the black suit. He then asked his friend "Ready?"

"As ready as I'll ever be." Pete answered and flexed his wrist before getting into a fighting stance.

"Then, let's go!" Joe yelled and Pete started running towards the target. Joe tapped into the dark side of the force and released his force lightning at Pete, who activated his finishing move at the same time.

The two attacks met on Petes right shoulder, where they merged and doubled in power. To Pete, this new power felt incredible and frightening at the same time, but he quickly shook those feelings from his mind and focused on the target "Okay, here goes nothing." Pete said to himself and punched the target as hard as he could. At first it seemed like the attack was working as it should, but Pete was in for a nasty surprise. The electricity just circled the target dummy, burning it in the process, and exploded when it reached Petes hand again. This, in turn sent him flying into the opposite wall of the gym "Ow." Pete said as he slid down the wall until he rested against it.

"Pete!" Joe exclaimed as he ran over to Pete, and deactivated the armor by putting one of Petes hands on the belt buckle "Dude, are you okay?" Joe asked Pete.

Pete blinked his eyes a few times, before he made a wheezing cough and answered in Himuros monotone voice, "I think that shock was all volts and no amps, which explains why we're still alive."

"Uh, that's great, but what exactly are you doing here Himuro?" Joe asked.

Himuro looked around, as if only just realizing that he was even in the room. When his mind finally caught up, he looked back at Joe and said "I'm sorry Joe, the shock must have switched our personalities involuntarily, and I'll switch back immediately." Himuro closed his eyes and started concentrating. After a few seconds though, he opened his eyes and slowly, but surely, got a nervous expression on his face.

"What is it?" Joe asked.

"I can't switch back, it's as if something is blocking the path between our minds, preventing my personality from switching with Pete's. I wonder what could have caused this." Himuro said as he got up with the help of Joe.

"Well it can't be that he was slammed into the wall, he's used to that, what about the shock?" Joe asked as he looked at the target dummy.

A light flashed in Himuros eyes as Joes words sank into his head "Of course." He said as he turned around to face Joe "The shock must have knocked Pete out and as long as he is out we can't switch, and until Pete wakes up I'm stuck out here, and if a mission comes up for Pete I'm totally screwed, because I am totally…"

"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Himuro." Joe interrupted and put a hand on Himuros shoulder, stopping the split personality's rambling, before he said "Just take a deep breath, and try to calm down." Himuro took a pair of deep breaths and Joe asked "Better?"

"Much better, thank you." Himuro said before he cleared his throat and asked "But what do we do, if there comes a mission for you and Pete? I mean, I'm useless in battle, even if I use Petes armor."

Joe was about to give a witty retort when the door to the gym opened, and Michael stepped inside "Hey Michael, what's up?" Joe asked and tried to cover Himuro with his body, so the newest leader of the society wouldn't notice what had happened to his friend, just moments before.

"A mission in the World of warcraft fandom." Michael said and threw a file to the two agents. Joe opened the file and started reading, Himuro reading with him over his shoulder.

"Why is this Stu classified as a possible level 5?" Joe asked.

"With all the activity in the fandom from both authors and players of the game, it's been difficult to locate it, much less getting a read on it, it could very well be a lot stronger than that."

"Then maybe we should have another agent with us, just in case." Joe said as he and Himuro looked the info over again to see if they had missed something.

"Okay, I'll see who's available. I'll see you in the observation room, when you're ready." Michael said and left the two agents to themselves.

"Okay wise guy, what do we do now?" Himuro asked after a moment of silence, his voice had an angry tone to it, which actually made him sound a bit creepy, given that the split personality usually didn't show his emotions.

Joe swallowed hard, he wasn't used to Himuro speaking to him like that, and frankly, it scared him a little. He quickly regained his composure however, and said "Well, maybe they won't suspect that something has happened, if you stay in the background, while me and the other agent takes care of the Stu.".

Himuro thought the option over for a moment, before he shook his head and said "No, if I don't fight, then everyone who knows Pete will know something's wrong. Looks like I have to beak out my personal arsenal." Himuro then started walking towards the door. He had just put his hand on the handle, when he remembered something and turned to Joe again "I'll meet you in the observation room as soon as I can." He then opened the door and started running towards his and Pete's room.

"Well, I guess I better get ready as well." Joe said to himself and headed for his own room to pick up his item pouch.

O-O-O

"Hi Pete," Charis said as she saw Himuro coming towards her, he was still not wearing his glasses, to give the appearance that he was Pete.

"Hi Charis," Himuro said, managing decent parody of Petes voice and a smile on his lips "How are you?".

"I'm good, are you ready for tonight?" Charis asked.

Himuro felt as if he had just been hit by lightning, since he knew nothing about what Pete had been planning with Charis, and he look nervously at as he said "Yeah, of cause I'm ready for tonight, uhh."

"Did you forget our date?" Charis asked, she didn't sound angry though, more a bit disappointed.

"Yeah, I did, I'm sorry." Himuro said and hoped that his apology sounded sincere enough.

It seemed that he did an okay job, because a little smile came to Charis' lips, before she looked around to make sure nobody was there, she still felt a bit nervous about them doing certain things in public, and walked close to him and said, "Look, just remember to be outside my lab at 8 o'clock, okay." She gave Himuro a quick kiss on the cheek, and started walking off to her lab. A thought suddenly occurred to her, she hadn't really felt anything, when she talking to who she thought was Pete. She turned to look at Himuro, who was writing something down on a block of paper. After thinking it over for a few seconds, she finally convinced herself that it was because she had too many thoughts in her head, and continued her walk towards her lab.

O-O-O

"So, are we ready to go." Himuro asked, as he entered the observation room with a shoulder bag in his right hand, having just returned from his room with the equipment that he would need for the mission.

"Not yet, we're still missing our third man." Joe said.

Himuro walked up beside Joe and whispered so only Joe could hear him "I just hope it won't be too long, I just wanna get in there and out again as fast as possible, and hopefully no one will notice my little problem." Joe just nodded, he knew that Himuro knew, that nothing could be done about their current situation, even if they claimed that Himuro had suddenly become ill, and went to the sickbay, they would still have to wait for Pete to wake up, which Joe hoped wouldn't be too long. He also knew that the split personality wasn't too keen on going on missions without his better half, but everything had happened so fast, and now they were at a point where they couldn't turn back.

The door opened and Michael, along with Tyler, stepped into the room. Joe moved a little closer to Himuro and whispered "Well, this is gonna be interesting."

"Good, you're both here, then we can get this mission on the road immediately." Michael and walked over to the monitor that displayed the World of warcraft fandom. Himuro and Joe quickly shook hands with Tyler and then proceeded to open a plothole to the fandom and jumped through it.

O-O-O

The plothole opened over the waters of Stormwind harbor, and Himuro, Joe and Tyler fell out of it and straight into the water "I hate plothole generators sometimes." Himuro said after spitting out a mouthful of seawater when he, Joe and Tyler resurfaced. They started swimming for the shore, where they looked each other over to see what forms they had been assigned when they entered the fandom. Joe had obtained the form of a Worgen, Tyler had become a Night elf and Himuro was now a Draenei.

"Well, this is certainly interesting." Joe said as he and Himuro walked around a bit, trying to get used to their new bodies.

"So, what do we do now?" Tyler asked after a few minutes.

"Let's ask around Stormwind, if the Stu is there, people will know, for sure." Joe said and the three started walking towards the humans capital.

When they reached the stairs that lead to the city, Himuro suddenly stopped dead in his tracks, at the foot of the stairs, his two partners continuing up the stairs, and looked at the city with a confused look on his face.

"What's up Pete?" Joe asked from his position halfway up the stairs, Tyler also turned around to see what was halting the two agents.

"Do you guys see anything wrong with Stormwind?" Himuro asked and pointed at the city.

Tyler and Joe turned around and studied the massive walls of the city. After a minute or so, they turned back around and Joe said "It looks okay to me.".

"Exactly. If we're in Cataclysm, which I know we are, then some of the walls should have been destroyed by the dragon Deathwing, which they clearly has not. This could mean that the Stu is more powerful than we first thought." Himuro said and started walking up the stairs. As he passed Joe, he got a confused look from the fellow agent and stopped to explain "Oh come on, I'm not all into inventing, I surf the net from time to time, to see what's new in the world." He said in a low enough tone so only he and Joe could hear it, before he continued up the stairs.

Joe also started walking up the stairs and said to himself "Hm, I didn't know that about him."

The three agents walked around Stormwind for a time, asking people if anything especially good had happened to the world lately. Everyone they asked, said that a 'White knight' had shown up one day and rid the world of all the evil that had ever plagued it. After having heard the same story, several times, the three agents decided to take a rest at the local inn, and get something to eat and drink "So, we know who the Stu is, now we just need to know where he is." Joe said after the waitress had placed their food on the table.

They had only taken a few bite of their food, when the door was more or less kicked open by a male Draenei, who yelled "The White knight has returned. He just got off the ship, you have to hurry if you want to see him, before he leaves the city." The Draenei then ran off to the next house.

"That was easy." Tyler said as he let the contents of his plate slide down his throat.

"Yeah, it was, but it makes me kinda nervous," Himuro said and took a few sips of his drink.

"Why?" Tyler asked and emptied his own drink in a single gulp.

"If the people of this world loves this 'White knight', as much as they seem to do, he might be a higher level than we thought he was." Himuro said and took a bite of the meat on his plate.

"So, what do we do now?" Joe asked.

"I suggest that we attack him, once he leaves the city, but first lunch, I'm hungry." Himuro said and continued eating his food.

"Hey, can I have some more, please?" Tyler asked the waitress, who by the looks of it, couldn't believe that he had finished his plate so quickly. Joe and Himuro couldn't help but snickering at the scenario.

O-O-O

The White knight left Stormwind with the crowds cheering on him from the gates. He was dressed in a pearly white armor, and on his back was a beautiful sword, its handle shaped like a dragon, with rubies for eyes. A sigh came from under his helmet. As much as he loved the cheers of the people, he also liked the tranquility of the castle the that people of Azeroth had raised in his honor. All he wanted to do after his great journey, was to lay down in his large bedroom and rest.

But his thoughts of rest were interrupted when he heard voices, and as he rounded a turn, he saw a young Night elf and a Draenei standing in the middle of the road, and by the looks of it, they were in the middle of an argument.

"He's not." The Draenei said.

"He is!" The Night elf yelled back.

"Hello, good people of Azeroth, what might your discussion be about?" The White knight asked in an overly dramatic tone of voice, and halted his white unicorn in front of the two.

The Draenei turned away from the Night elf, holding up what looked like a small metal rod, with a pink lens on the top, and said "We were just discussing if you were as stupid as you look, turns out my friend here was right." He then pressed a button on the device, and a pink flash came from the lens.

The White knight was quick enough to close his eyes, so he was not blinded by the light, but as soon as he opened his eyes, he was greeted by a magical blast to the helmet, which in turn knocked him off his mount. He quickly rolled out of the way as an axel like staff, wielded by the enraged Night elf, came down on him. He quickly drew his sword and started parrying the hail of swipes and hits Tyler threw at him.

From Tyler and Himuro's point of view, the pink light had stuck to the White knight and made him glow a bright pink. This had sent Tyler into one of his pink related nervous breakdowns, and he was now smacking the knight around.

Himuro quickly jumped behind some rocks, where Joe was waiting for him, they didn't want to be near Tyler when he had one of his breakdowns "Are you sure this Sue beacon of yours is gonna work, Himuro?" Joe asked.

Himuro put a hand to his ear, and listened to the sounds of battle "Well from the sounds of Tyler beating the living daylights out the guy, I'd say it's working out fine." Himuro said, but no sooner had the words left his mouth, before there was a bright light, together with the sound of a very loud explosion, and Tyler came flying over their heads and smashed into a tree, leaving him unconscious "Or he could be an extremely powerful paladin, who wanna cleanse us to death with his holy magic." Himuro said and looked at Tylers unconscious form.

Joe stood up and said, "Well, since plan A has obviously failed, we might as well try and get a prohibitor on him the old fashioned way.".

Joe activated his biosuit, and was about to go fight the knight, when Himuro grabbed his arm, put his other hand in his shoulder bag and pulled out what looked like USB flash drives "Take these, they're firebombs, all you need to do is pressing the button on them and throw them." Himuro said and put the bombs in Joes hand.

Joe looked at the bombs and nodded and started to walk around the rock. He stopped as a thought came to him. "Would you mind turning off the Sue beacon? I don't wanna get run over by Tyler, if he wakes up before we're done here," Joe said and disappeared around the rock to confront their opponent.

"I'll be with you in a second." Himuro said before he pulled out the Sue beacon, and removed the batteries from it, which would remove its effect on Sues and Stus. He then went over and sat Tyler against the tree, and slapped the young mans face lightly, until he slowly opened his eyes "Tyler, are you okay." Himuro asked.

"I think so, but did you get the number on the truck, that just ran me down?" Tyler asked as he put a hand to his forehead, to massage the lump he had gotten when he hit the tree.

Himuro let a small smile cross his face, before he said "You seem to be fine." He then stood up and started looking through his bag. He quickly found what he was looking for, an icepack for Tyler, and what looked like an ipod with two parabolic dishes attached to it. He handed the icepack to Tyler with the words "Take this and come back to the fight when you're ready." He then put the ipod like device in his pocket and summoned his rider belt.

Joe let a bolt of force lightning sail across the battlefield, in an attempt to do some damage to the White knight. The attack fail, of cause, because the Stu simply put up a magical force field, which in turn deflected the lightning. He lowered the shield and said in a mocking tone "Thou can not hurt me, thy demonic powers are no match for my holy powers, and thou shall now be purified in holy death." The knight then swung his sword and sent an arc of golden energy towards Joe.

Joe formed shields out of his claws, and readied himself for the coming pain, but it never came. He lowered the shields to see Himuro standing in front of him in the Lightdrake armor, the armor on his right leg smoking from parrying the white knights attack "It was about time you showed up." Joe said as he morphed his claws back into their original form.

"Well, I guess I had to come and rescue you at some point." Himuro said with a hint of good natured sarcasm in his voice.

"Okay, but now that you've saved me, let's kick this guy's ass." Joe said before he found the bombs that Himuro had given him and ran towards the White knight. Himuro smirked under his helmet as he pulled the sides of his belt buckle to activate his final attack, before flying into the air.

"So, these demonic entities wish to challenge me, then I shall teach them a lesson they won't soon forget." The White knight said and readied himself for the coming fight. When Joe was within distance of the White knight, he pressed the buttons on firebombs and threw them. The White knight saw the attack coming, and casually raised his holy shield. The bombs exploded against the shield in brilliant blue flames, and the White knight could feel the intense heat that radiated from them. But he wasn't worried, because as soon as he let the shield down, the flames went out along with it. The White knight and Joe stood and looked at each other for a couple of seconds, before the knight raised his sword and blocked the electrified kick from Lightdrake, who quickly jumped off the blade and landed next to Joe.

"Well that didn't go well at all." Joe Said and formed his claw shields.

"Yeah, I guess the direct approach doesn't really work on this guy." Himuro said and took a fighting stance. He suddenly felt something, as if there was a faint signal from Pete, but he quickly dismissed it as nothing more than a feeling, and focused on the battle.

The White knight smirked under his helmet, as he raised his sword over his head and loudly proclaimed "Now thou shall feel the ultimate holy power, namely the power of the sun." A tiny ball of energy appeared over the tip of the sword and grew until it was the same size as himself.

As that was happening, Joe looked at Himuro and said "Wow, this guy really knows how to stay in character."

"Well maybe he's just like that, or maybe he's a really good actor. By the way, shouldn't we be running for our lives right about now?" Himuro asked and pointed at the big energy ball.

"Yeah I guess you're right, we should." Joe said. The two agents looked at each other for a moment, before screamed and started running towards the rocks they had used for hiding.

"Thou will not escape my attack." The White knight said and swung his sword in a beautiful, fluid motion and sent the ball of energy flying directly at Joe and Himuro.

Joe and Himuro had the energy ball on their heels, as they ran for cover, and literally jumped over the rock to escape the powerful holy attack. The energy ball smashed into the rock, but instead of turning the it into dust, the ball just popped like a soap bobble, sending a pillar of beautiful golden light into the sky, which was quickly reduced to nothing "Whew, that was close." Joe said as he got up from where he had landed after him and Himuro's jump.

"Yeah it was, but we better get back out there and defeat that guy, and I got a plan." Himuro said as he too got off of the ground, and touched the center of the Drake/Hopper buckle to deactivate the armor. He quickly found the ipod like device in his pocket and said to Joe and Tyler "Follow me gentlemen." he, Joe and Tyler then started walking back to the spot, where the White knight was "It's a risky move. But what ever, the worst thing that can happen, is that if the thing overloads, I'll unleash hell on the multiverse, no biggie." Himuro said to himself as he and his fellow agents stepped out form behind the rock.

"Ah, thou found a way to evade my strongest attack. Well, thou shall not be so lucky next time." The White knight said and got ready to fight, his sword starting to light up with golden energy.

"Probably, except there won't be a next time." Himuro said and held up the ipod like device. He pressed the button on the top of the device, which turned it on. The screen lit up and the words 'PLEASE SPEAK PASSWORD NOW' appeared on it "The password is 'dimension henshin'." Himuro said.

"PASSWORD ACCEPTED, DO YOU WISH TO CHOOSE A WORLD YOURSELF, OR DO YOU WANT THE SHTD SOFTWARE TO CHOOSE A WORLD RANDOMLY." The SHTD/Singular Hyper Time Destabilizer said in a soft woman's voice.

"Pick a random world, and quickly." Himuro said and jumped out of the way, when the White knight came at him, and tried to take his head off with his sword.

The three agents did their best to avoid the White knight for a few moments, until the Singular Hyper Time Destabilizer announced "WORLD FOUND, DESTABILIZING HYPER TIME." The parabolic dishes on the SHTD moved to the top and bottom of the machine, before they shot out a blinding white light and started moving towards the center, covering Himuro in the light until he looked like a human light bulb.

"Thou shall meet thy maker!" The White knight yelled as he swung his sword to cleave Himuro in two. The sword never touched Himuro though, because at that exact moment, he split into two entities and the sword hit nothing but air. The White knight raised his sword for another strike, but never got further than that, before the light around the two entities exploded in his direction, and sent him flying back and hitting the ground hard, though by the help of his Stu luck, the fall was one of the softer ones.

The White knight slowly got to his feet, all the while looking at the two beings, that Himuro had turned into. The two looked exactly alike, the only differences between the two being that one of them was wearing glasses, and had purple hair and the other white hair. This was Pete and Himuro from a parallel universe, where they had OC super sentai powers, and where they were battling the White knights counterpart of that universe. They also still had both their eyes.

The two alternate universe agents took a look at the White knight, before they pointed at him and said in unison "You have disturbed the balance of this world, and you will be punished for it." The two presented a pair of bronze bracelets, they had on their right wrists, which had a small, silver colored machine, with seven gems, each in a different color to represent the chakras, alien symbols on the sides, and what looked like a lock at the top, attached to the bracelets.

The two AU agents each held up what looked like a key, AU Pete had a key with a white gem on it, and AU Himuro had one with a purple gem on it. They inserted the keys into the locks, turned them and flipped the gemmed part of the key on top of it. The gems lit up, along with the corresponding gem on the transformation device, before the light of the gems expanded over the AU agents bodies and formed bubbles.

The light bubbles shattered to reveal to two dressed in their sentai suits, which consisted of a spandex suit with colored chest, boots, shin guards, elbow length gloves, the rest of the suit was black. The helmet had long, golden sideburns, a pair of long, golden horns along a silver mouth protector and a black visor that looked like the ones on motorcycle helmets. AU Pete was dressed in white and AU Himuro was dressed in purple.

The two AU agents didn't waste time on role calling, but instead summoned their weapons by removing their transformation devices, and drawing the shapes of the weapons in the air, the devices leaving a colored band of light in their wake. The weapons consisted of a white staff with a triangle shape on the top of it, and a giant, black hourglass with purple sand in it, and a pair of handles on the sides, so he could handle the hourglass like some sort of hammer.

AU Pete ran up to the White knight, who was still wondering what the hell was going on, and struck his helmet with the staff, stunning him long enough to get behind him, and tripping him with the other end of the staff. The White knight shaked his head and got up again, and after charging his sword with golden energy, the two started clashing weapons for what would hopefully be the final match.

While this was happening, AU Himuro was getting ready for his own attack on the Stu. The sand inside the hourglass started flying around, while small bolts of electricity traveling between the grains of sand, making the hourglass light up with purple light. The AU agent turned to Joe and Tyler and said "Joe, Tyler, I need a little extra energy from you, so we can finish this quickly."

"Okay…" Joe said, a little nervous since he still remembered the accident in the gym "But last time I did that, I gave you too much power, and you were knocked out."

AU Himuro looked at him with a confused expression on his face and said "You only did that until we found out that 3 seconds is the maximal time you can use your force power on our weapons, before they become overloaded and backfires.".

"Okay, let's get this show on the road then." Joe said. Now that he knew how long he could use his powers on a final attack, he felt more confident about doing it again "Ready Tyler?" Joe asked as he activated his force powers.

"Always." Tyler said and started charging his magic. The two agents released their attacks on the hourglass for as close to three seconds as they could, making the energy circle wildly around the hourglass. AU Himuro then lifted the hourglass from the ground and started a running attack on the White knight.

"Thou fight valiantly, but it is no use against a powerful knight such as myself." The White knight said as his sword clashed with AU Pete's staff.

AU Pete looked behind the White knight, and saw AU Himuro coming towards them and said "Maybe…" He parried another strike form the White knights blade, and continued "But I'm not planning on beating you. You see, I'm just distracting you, so my partner can give you the final blow." As AU Pete finished his sentence, AU Himuro had reached the two combatants, and smashed the hourglass hammer into the side of the White knights helmet, actually denting the metal of it, and sending him head first, into a tree, which in turn knocked him out, at least for a little while.

The AU agents was about to high five, when the soft, mechanical voice of the SHTD echoed in the air around them "3, 2, 1. HYPER TIME, RESTABELIZING." As the two AU agents hands met, the white light from before spread from their hands to their feet, before they merged back into a single entity, who then fell to the ground, exhausted from the use of the SHTD.

Joe looked from the downed Stu, to his comrade and then to Tyler and said "Go prohibit the Stu, I need to take care of Pete."

"Right on," Tyler said and ran over to the White knight, who was already regaining consciousness. Tyler raised his staff and bonked the White knight on the helmet, effectively knocking him out again, before he placed a Prohibitor on the Stus wrist, with the words "You sir, are under arrest, in the name of the Anti-cliché and Mary-Sue elimination society."

Joe went over and lightly shaked the exhausted form of his comrade, before he asked, "Dude, how're you doing?"

"I've been better." The voice of Pete spoke as he opened his eyes, and looked at his friend.

"You're back, awesome." Joe said and smiled.

Pete slowly got up, aided by Joe so he wouldn't fall. He looked himself over and said "Yeah, but how long was I out, I don't remember being blue or having hooves.".

"Well, the short of it is that Himuro went on a mission with us." Joe said as he helped his comrade over to Tyler, and sat him down on a rock so he could regain some strength.

"Never thought he had it in him." Pete said quietly as he rubbed his temples.

"Well I'll tell you all about it, when we get back home. Hey Tyler, are we ready to…" Joe stopped talking and looked around in disbelief. Time had stopped, the exception being himself and Pete "Okay, I'm officially freaked out here, what's happening?"

"I happened." A voice said from behind the two agents. They turned around to face their author, who was walking out from behind a couple of trees.

"Oookay, so why are you here, why did you feel the need to stop time?" Pete asked and pointed at the time frozen Tyler and Stu.

"I am here to discuss a private matter with you, hence the time freeze." The author said, taking a quick look at Tyler and the Stu himself.

"And that private matter would be, what exactly?" Joe asked.

"You see, after our little run-in with Kazuna, I've been keeping a more careful eye on my ideas, to make sure I don't repeat that mistake. However, last night I went down into my vault of ideas in the making, and discovered that some of my unfinished ideas had disappeared, and guess what I saw when I checked the security cams." The author said.

"What?" both agents asked

"A Sue with a key to my world." The author said simply.

"How did she get her too perfect hands on such a thing?" Pete asked as he stood up and stretched his body.

"The only person, besides you two, me and any of my finished characters, who had such a key, was Kazuna. And now a Sue has the key, and thus access to my mind. Or rather she had access to my mind, I made the key useless after we captured Kazuna, so she must have broken in and stolen the ideas before we put Kazuna behind bars." The author suddenly realized that he hadn't gotten to the point yet, so he cleared his throat and continued "Anyway, I want you two to look out for the ideas and get them back to my world so they can get back in storage until I need them."

"And how do we do that exactly?" Joe asked.

"With these." The author said, as he pulled what looked like a pair of silver balls out of his pocket. He handed the balls to Pete and Joe and continued "These devices will help you find and neutralize the ideas. It will open when one of my ideas are nearby, and when you look through it, the idea will glow blue so you can follow it. And once you've caught the idea, all you have to do is to hold the ball close to the ideas forehead, and it will be programmed to seek out the nearest plothole, where it will jump to a fandom of my choosing to be picked up by me."

"Awesome." Joe said and stored the ball in his pouch. Pete put his ball in one of his pockets, where he noticed a piece of paper he was sure hadn't been there before, but he didn't want to look at in front of his author, it could be something personal.

"Well, I'll be off then, I'll se you around." The author said and walked behind the trees again, and a few seconds later, time started up again.

Pete and Joe looked at each other for a moment, before Joe said "Well, let's get this guy back to the society, I'm starting to get hungry." Tyler, Joe and Pete grabbed the White knight by his arms and feet, before they opened a plothole back to the library.

After the portal closed behind them, a pair of figures stepped out from behind the rocks opposite to the trees that Pete and Joes author had walked behind. The first was a man in his mid thirties and the other was a female troll who looked a few years younger than the man.

The man was a little overweight. He had short cut, light brown hair and grey-green eyes, which was hidden behind a pair novelty x-ray glasses. He wore a white lab coat, a black shirt, black pants, black leather shoes and a utility belt with two sonic screwdrivers, an old looking revolver, what looked like sword sized dragon dagger, a Tron identity disc and what looked like the K-Touch from Kamen rider decade.

The troll had an almost human look, the only difference being that her ears were longer and had hair on them, and she had a pair of horns in her forehead. The troll was also a bit on the chubby side. Her eyes were brown, and her hair, which reached the middle of her back, was dark brown. Her clothes consisted of a piece of grey cloth that was wrapped around her chest, a long loincloth, which was made from the same grey fabric, a green cloak, a belt with several pouches and a long knife in a leather sheath, and on her feet, a pair of modern day sandals.

"This looks like an interesting dimension, wouldn't you agree Ashlin?" The man asked his companion, his voice was high-pitched and had an indefinable accent.

"Indeed it does, doctor Neosano." Ashlin said.

O-O-O

Pete and Joe was sitting in Joes room, filling out the mission paperwork, while Joe was explaining the events that had transpired during the mission "And when the light disappeared, you were you again.".

"Okay, now the only problem left is explaining why I acted like I did." Pete said as he looked up from his paperwork, and leaned back in the comfy leather chair he was currently occupying.

"Well, we could just say that you were field-testing some new equipment for Himuro." Joe said as he too set his paperwork down for a moment.

"Good idea, it's not all that suspicious. Now let's get this over with, I wanna relax with a hot bath and a movie." Pete said, and started writing again.

"Sounds like a good plan, I might do the same after I'm done." Joe said.

The two finished their paperwork as quickly as they could, and after delivering it to Michael, together Tyler of course, they went their separate ways. Pete stuffed his hands in his pockets, and once again felt the note that he had noticed in World of warcraft. He pulled it out, and started reading it 'Meet Charis at 20.00 o'clock outside her laboratory'. Pete looked up from the note with a smile on face, he took a look at his watch, there was a good 2 hours until it was 8, and said to himself "Well, a shower and a date isn't half bad either." He then went straight to his room to get ready for his date.

Shipping Contest: PetexCharis

STRATEGY

The pictures taped haphazardly to the briefing room's front wall were all charming, in a way.

The back view of a girl as she watches a boy across the expanse of the Library floor.

Two blushing faces close together over hands reaching for the same book.

Matching expressions of peace on a couple of sleeping faces.

The boy waiting innocently outside a room as the tip of a shoe indicates someone's about to leave.

Two silhouettes stealing a kiss.

"I think this content is too mature for me. I'm not old enough to get past the mushiness of kissing."

"What? I swear you're 16. And I thought you liked romances – you're always swooning over the little boys in the fandoms you like."

"Correction. It's Lela who likes the little boys in that way. I just happen to develop a fondness for them that's only befitting the main characters of those series."

"Uh-huh." Chloe's tone made it clear that she didn't believe her companion.

"That's neither here nor there! Even if I were accustomed to flagrant PDA, that doesn't mean I have to enjoy seeing my sister caught in such compromising situations. This is uncomfortable!"

"I think you're just sore that you didn't get these pictures first, for blackmailing purposes."

"Look who's talking, Tyler," Karissa shot back. "These photos would have been worth a ton of chocolate for you – or in my case, a month off dishwashing duty for me. I also could have persuaded Charis to make a cool new gadget for me."

"Charis has said she's run out of ideas for more gadgets, actually. Either that's the truth for the moment or just an excuse to spend more time with Pete," Jared smirked.

Karissa spluttered in an attempt to come to her sister's defence; no one could tease her sister but her.

"Silence in the boardroom!" Out of the blue their leader Harriet's voice entered into the chatter. Harriet's voice preceded her as she walked into the room flanked by Emily. "Cease all your side conversations at once, and someone pinch whoever's making that unseemly noise!"

"Hey– ow!"

"Harriet, wait!" The late arrival of another Agent smoothed over the muffled laughter from Karissa glaring hurtfully at Jared while he nursed a sore hand that had been slapped trying to pinch her. Unlike Harriet, Marcus' voice arrived with him, panting but not too dishevelled from having chased her all the way from the Occult section.

"Have a seat, Marcus. You're just in time, we've barely begun. Alright everyone, we have gathered here to discuss–"

"What, exactly?" Marcus quickly interrupted Harriet before she could get much further. "You sent out invitations for this meeting to barely half our Agents, and you didn't issue an agenda beforehand. Forgive me for being curious, but what is this about? Adrian, Tash, Michael, Claire, Miri and Aster aren't even in the Library right now."

"I know that," Harriet said with a frown. "And I didn't want to trouble the Agents who aren't present now because this matter isn't that important – or I mean, no, this is a very important matter!" In the face of several confused faces she made the decision to contradict herself generously. One had to make your Agents feel like they were wanted for a purpose, after all.

"This is the reason we're here!" Harriet stabbed a finger dramatically at the picture nearest to her. Due to the angle at which she stood, nobody could see exactly which picture had earned the Society founder's ire. But Harriet kept on speaking so as to enlighten them. "A romance that started up most unexpectedly! It flourishes upon tired romantic techniques such as the Comedic First Meeting and Hey, It's YOU! Again! Its characteristic calling card is a blush seared into burning cheeks. We were all delighted to notice the appearance of this romance, but if asked beforehand none of us would have ever admitted to thinking that it would work out."

"You don't mean...we're speaking about Charis and Pete?" Karissa breathed out in horror. She was shocked despite the fact that she had been peeking at the incriminating evidence only moments before.

"Do I need to give you any more hints? Yes! As cute as the shipping is, it is so cliché! And we are the ANTI-Cliché and Mary-Sue Elimination Society. We CANNOT stand for this sort of thing happening inside of our ranks. For the sake of our reputation, we must split the offending couple apart!"

"Or we could just validate their relationship by asking the Author to go easy on the clichés in the future," Chloe suggested.

The shuddering of the Fourth Wall should have been expected, but Harriet's expression made the tremors seem like an extension of her outrage, and therefore infinitely more terrifying. "ABSOLUTELY NOT! What would be the fun in that?" She broke off with a small frown. "As of this time, 18:00 GMT, Operation 'Break Up Techshipping' is in effect. Get creative, people, and tell me how we can bring this thing to an end."

None of the five Agents on the receiving end of her speech made any moves to volunteer. "What exactly does she expect us to do?" Karissa wondered under her breath.

"What? Has nobody watched a romantic movie before, or at least picked up and skimmed a romantic novel? Think like the bitchy ex-girlfriend; think like the evil ex-wife. How do we go about destroying a relationship?"

To everyone's surprise, it was Emily who spoke up first. "Play them off against each other," she said firmly. "If there's anything Pete and Charis dislike about each other we should bring it out into the open and make them question why they put up with it."

"Oh, that's smart," Harriet admitted appreciatively.

"One of them has to cheat on the other," Jared added, contributing his part.

Chloe pragmatically recommended trying to convince the pair that they weren't right for each other – if it was true – in which case their bond would naturally, peacefully fall apart.

"If it's true? You're giving them the benefit of the doubt." Harriet again picked up on Chloe's strange reluctance to intervene in matters.

"Stranger things have happened than two seemingly random people falling truly in love."

"I'll believe that when I see it happen, in this case, before my very own eyes. Next! Back to the evil plans."

Tyler stuck a hand up. "Well, it's simple, really. Two words: Edward Cullen."

It took Harriet too long to control her laughter, while around the table other Agents twitched a little spasmodically at hearing the Twipire's name.

"The best way would be to make sure Charis has a lot more fun while she's away from Pete," Karissa said barely audibly, as if she were still thinking to herself. "If she didn't perceive any benefit from being in a relationship then maybe she wouldn't stick around with him."

"Spoken by the person who knows Charis best," Harriet mused meditatively. "I can't say that would be more effective than any of the others' methods, but it bears keeping in mind. Huh, this is a pretty nice set of strategies we've concocted. How improbable is it to say that we can finish carrying out all of these acts before midnight strikes?"

"It sounds doable," Jared replied, thinking what a shame it was that his little green army men weren't quite ready to be tested in terms of how much havoc they could wreak... yet.

"We'll definitely be done before midnight," Tyler affirmed, thinking of the doubtless booby-trapped cookies that he would be free to search out once this assignment from Harriet was over.

"Let's get this over with," both Chloe and Karissa sighed, for different reasons.

Emily returned to Harriet's side as they collectively prepared to leave but Marcus remained frozen in place at the back of the room. "Are you sure we should be doing this?" he asked a little nervously. "If you need someone to blame, strictly speaking it was one of my selves that caused Pete and Charis to be lumped together. The root of their affair isn't actually impossible to trace back to a source."

By now Harriet cared more for the effect rather than the cause of her little game. "You're blocking the exit, Marcus," she said, not unkindly. "What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger. If Charis and Pete are meant to be, nothing we do will ultimately change that."

"C-can't it?" Thought Marcus stuttered as he split in half to allow the rest of the group through. Emotion Marcus just sniffed in disdain at his more sensitive counterpart and followed the others out the door. "W-wait for me!"

PLAN ONE

"Charis, what exactly do you like about Pete?" For a good half hour Karissa had circuitously led the conversation round and round the topic of boys – feigning interest in one herself, and asking her sister for advice – before she finally broached the topic of her sister's own love life. "I've heard that opposites attract, of course, but just as many people say that 'When we fall in love, we're just falling in love with ourselves.'"

"That's not a quote, Karissa. That's a lyric from Keane's Spiralling song," Charis criticized absently.

"Well it could still be true, can it not? I'd always thought someone like Himuro might be more your type. Smart. Techno-savvy. Good with his hands."

Charis giggled. "How would you know if Pete is all of those things or not? In my honest opinion–"

Karissa gagged.

"Pete is more than capable, and that is that."

"Ahem. Well, to rephrase my question, if you can't answer me what you like about Pete then why don't you like Himuro also? Why don't you love him like you do Pete?"

"Himuro is nothing like Pete, even if he is his alter-ego."

"Is there anything you dislike about him – them – Pete, I mean?"

"No, not really."

"Oh, well that's good, I guess."

T_T_T_T_T_T

Tyler was direct and to the point, egged on by Jared while Chloe stood rolling her eyes from a distance away in the background.

"Hey Pete! How are you doing?" They had taken no care to lower their voices as they barged into his room as one. One quick glance had confirmed that they were speaking to the proper person, not Himuro's personality, and then Tyler had followed up with, "If there was anything about Charis that annoyed you, you would tell us, right? There's no harm in letting loose a little steam once in a while. Has she ever done something to make you mad?"

Pete blinked at them like they were all crazy. He might have been right. Chloe edged out of his line of vision.

"What do you say, Pete?"

"I'm not the sort of guy who would breathe a single word about Charis behind her back. But in any case, there's nothing to say."

"Oh."

"..."

"We'll just be going now."

"..."

T_T_T_T_T_T

PLAN TWO

The sound of laboured breathing was magnified by the loss of other senses – most importantly, sight – in the half-darkness of the room. "Straighten your spine...hold in your breath a bit longer...you'll get used to it soon."

"NO I WON'T! Get me out of here!"

"Come on, bear with it."

"I SAID NO! Argggghhhh!"

"This is not going to work, Harriet." Emily turned a chagrined face upon her mentor. "Thought Marcus is fighting back with all he can give, and we've barely gotten the corset laced halfway up."

"WHY DO I HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO DRESS UP AS A GIRL? WE HAVE REAL GIRLS!" When he was yelling at the top of his lungs Thought Marcus' stutter disappeared and he could almost be mistaken for his brash counterpart. Only, Emotion Marcus could be plainly seen, and he was currently laughing hysterically at the distress of his other self.

Harriet stepped up. "We can't ask Karissa or Chloe to seduce Pete in-character because that would ruin their relations with Charis. But if she walks in on an unknown female all snug against her man then she'll be furious! And confused. Her confusion should allow you just enough time to scarper and change out of your costume before you're discovered," Harriet explained patiently, and not for the first time.

"W-what about Emily?"

"I don't take Pete for a pedophile."

"W-what about–"

"What about me?" Harriet completed his sentence sweetly. "Surely you're not suggesting your Society founder and Leader should degrade herself?"

"NO, no, n-not at all. It would just be horribly convenient if there were a spare, mysterious, busty and beautiful woman kicking about the Library."

Emily thought immediately of her friend Phoenixia at these words, but not everyone knew – or was supposed to know – about her yet. Emily sighed as the laces grasped in her hands lost most of their tension. She had been distracted – no wonder Thought Marcus had the breath required to yell. "I vote we scrap this plan and move on to the next," she proposed reasonably. "Perhaps the others have had some better luck."

Harriet nodded slowly. "Maybe that would be for the best."

"THANK GOD! You heard her, someone give me back my coat and bandages!"

T_T_T_T_T_T

PLAN THREE

"Who will be our brave volunteer that will open a Plothole into the Twilight fandom and bring back Edward Cullen?" Plan Three was very nearly undone, because not one person raised their hand up. Yet Harriet was too sympathetic to order one of them through involuntarily.

"Why aren't those books on the Black List anyways? The descriptions of those sparkling Twipires certainly make me want to kill myself."

"Good question."

"Um, the fandom's not Blacklisted, but I do seem to recall that Adrian put some weird redirection spell on it. I don't know if we can get in with a conventional Plothole."

"No problem then." It was Tyler who announced this. "I just remembered, back in November of last year we had an invasion of Twipires. I don't know why. But they came from within the pages of the books. All we need to do is find some copies of any of the four books and I'm sure we can call the Cullen forth."

"But I thought Shirley ate all the copies of Twilight?"

"That's what we thought then. We were wrong," Karissa added darkly.

"How exactly do we lure the Cullen into our world?"

"We pretend we'd be glad to see him." Following Tyler's explanation all the Agents tried hard to twist their faces into some semblance of a smile. However, as soon as they imagined seeing the reviled Ed Cullen appear – whether he bore the semblance of Robert Pattinson or another – their faces crumbled and soon enough the only expression they all wore was loathing.

"I don't think this is going to work," Emily said at last.

"Haven't I heard that before?" Harriet wondered. "Our genius plans don't seem to be amounting to much."

"But we still have one more."

T_T_T_T_T_T

PLAN FOUR

They went shopping. All sorts of shopping – window shopping, shopping for CDs, clothes, jewellery and books. They saw a movie each – Karissa chose an animated feature for them first, and later Charis preferred to watch the latest action film complete with hunky male lead. Karissa treated her sister to dinner and dessert, and Charis bought bubble tea. They stayed in the mall for a full two hours longer than necessary so that – although the lights inside the food court remained bright – outside the black sky swept over all the buildings in its path until every window they looked through was dark.

Karissa thought it had been a fulfilling night. Charis was sure to have enjoyed herself. On the way back to the Library they walked companionably in silence, but somewhere between a Plothole and an Anachronism Charis stopped and looked as if she would speak.

"You asked me some awfully odd questions today, Karissa. Are you really that concerned about how things stand between me and Pete?"

"I just want you to be happy," Karissa responded lamely.

"Is that all? Because I am happy, you know." Charis smiled to herself. "I love him. We haven't said as much to each other, but I do think that this is more than a mere infatuation on my part now. My mind has finally caught up with my heart in order that I can admit that."

"Congratulations?" Karissa offered weakly.

Charis acted as if she hadn't heard. "Sometimes I think to that day when Pete and Joe asked us for a double date. When it was first suggested I slapped him, remember? But that was out of character for me. I don't normally do those kinds of things to strangers. I'd looked in on some of Pete's missions before, but I'd never formally met him. Why was I comfortable enough – embarrassed enough – to slap him? And then the next time I saw him I couldn't stop blushing, either. I think what I like most about Pete is that he can get a response from me whereas previously not many people could. I followed along with my instincts and ended up finding that it's not wrong to fall in love with someone after only being attracted to them at first."

"Pete was the first person I got to know well after joining the Society – discounting Doug, of course – and maybe first impressions are the most important because it didn't take him long to become pretty important to me." Charis put the weight of her whole earnest gaze on Karissa's face.

Mission be damned, she wasn't going to carry on this charade anymore. "Charis, I will support you in everything you do. You're my big sister, and–" Karissa's eyes started to tear up, to her great discomfort. "I want you to continue being with Pete in the future, if that's what it takes for you to never know regret."

"Aw, thanks Kris." Charis lapsed into her favourite nickname for her little sister, one that she hadn't been using so frequently since she'd started dating Pete.

T_T_T_T_T_T

When they stepped out onto the floor of the Library Pete was already there waiting, and Charis ran to put her arms around him without any hesitation.

But at least she wasn't hiding the display from Karissa anymore.

REPORT

The pictures were triple in number this time, almost as if they'd learnt to breed as frantically as the Society's ever-mounting paperwork. Whoever the anonymous photographer was, the quality and especially the composition of the shots remained stellar. Three of the most eye-catching were:

Charis laughingly ran ahead of Pete, daring him to catch up before they both missed the mission debriefing.

Pete held Charis' hand, allowing her to lean her head against his shoulder as he swung their linked arms.

Charis stood proudly next to a transformed Pete in the mirror, letting laughter overtake her as the unfortunate victim of the Genderbender looked abashed.

Karissa's mind was in a pleasant fog, seeing so many instances of her sister's most brilliant smile. She could just barely hear Harriet talking from across the table. "In conclusion, I suppose Techshipping isn't irreparably clichéd. Pete and Charis have plenty of time to develop a deeper relationship and then there will be reform. Just like an Author always has some chance to prevent his character from becoming a Sue or Stu, likewise there's hope left for our two Agents." Harriet tapped her cricket bat sharply on the wooden table. "I move to reconvene this meeting in two month's time and hear a full review of the couple's status."

Karissa's voice rode out quite firmly, "I move against that. We should just let them be from now on."

Chloe looked out at the group inscrutably before seconding Karissa's motion.

Harriet looked disappointed, but was secretly much relieved. "Alright, all in favour?" The vote came out unanimously. "Then it is my wish that Techshipping will thrive freely in the months to come. Though, if we can't interfere with Pete and Charis, can we still tease them?" She let the question slip before realizing that, as a Leader, no one here was suited to tell her what she could or couldn't do.

"I believe we shall," Karissa said anyways. She began to gather all the photographs pinned up, muttering, "An album full of these will be just the thing...we'll have loads of fun with this."

"Karissa? Where on earth did you get all these Polaroids?"

Insert Casual Battle in the Dead of Night Here

The majority of the clocks within the Library currently read 11:30 pm.

Even at this time of evening, Charis obediently let herself be pulled away from her lab for what was to be the fourth time that day. The first three times her removal had been justified by the reason that, otherwise, her sister would have starved if she hadn't cooked something for her; however, Charis was curious what Karissa wanted this time around.

"Where are you taking me now?" she complained half-heartedly as she was led around by the light grip on her wrist.

When she was safely ensconced inside her laboratory, Charis could usually convince herself that only a few inches of pathetic drywall separated her from fresh air. But as her field of view was faced with row upon rows of a countless number of books, she began to feel a bit queasy. The book stacks were impossibly high, too, emphasizing just how much space separated her from the Library's exterior.

"Where are you taking me?" she repeated a second time, but her cheerful tone had taken a turn for the worse, and additionally she chafed slightly against her sister's hold.

Karissa turned wide eyes on her. "Oh, sorry, Charis, I forgot about your claustrophobia. Tash sent an e-mail saying she wanted to see us in the conference room." The younger girl noted the sudden paleness that afflicted her sibling. "I've been trying to take the shortest possible route to get there, but since your lab is out-of-the-way downstairs...there isn't really a short route, just one shorter than all the others."

Charis offered a weak chuckle. She perked up a bit once they'd passed into a part of the Library with no books – there were a scattering of Agents' personal rooms in this hallway. Most of the doors stood open, and she could see that almost no one was in bed at this hour. A large majority of the Society were Night Owls. They passed one occupied room, though, and both girls felt obliged to call a greeting.

"Night, Pete!"

"Are you going somewhere? Off for a midnight snack, or out on a mission?" Pete came to the door of his room, and seemed genuinely curious about their passing.

"We're pretty sure it's a mission," Charis spoke, but her eyes were fixed shyly past his face as she replied to him. The corners of her mouth kept trying to twist into a smile of their own accord.

"Mind if I tag along?"

"You mean you want to walk with us, or you want to accompany us on the mission?" Karissa asked slyly. Her eyes darted knowingly between the other two.

Pete only shrugged noncommittally, and then he reached with his hand for a pair of glasses folded up in his pocket. Putting them over momentarily closed eyes, Himuro spoke afterwards, "Charis, have you seen my Genderbender? Pete had it last, and he's hidden it and won't tell me where it is."

"Ah, Himuro." Charis' eyes finally made eye contact. "No, I don't know where Pete might have put it, I'm sorry." There was no flush in her cheeks anymore.

"Walk with us," Karissa commanded. She seemed annoyed for some reason that Pete's alter-ego had popped up. Together, the new group of three continued the trek to the mission room.

T_T_T_T_T_T

"It took you long enough to get here." By the time they arrived, the Society leader wasn't in a bad mood – or else they would have immediately run back from whence they came – but they had without doubt seen her in better moods than this.

"I'm sorry," Karissa apologized to Tash. "Charis' lab is pretty far away-"

"Hey, Charis, were you just going to leave without telling me? We have things to talk about regarding the Anachron device before tomorrow." Douglas interrupted from the wheelchair he had been put in after his last mission in the Surrogates fandom.

Karissa's eyes boggled. "How did you get up here so fast?"

Charis was intrigued as well. "I'm sure you were still next-door in your lab when I left with my sister."

Doug gave them both an exasperated look. "There's a winding ramp at one end of the Science hallway that terminates right around here. You must have gone up the stairs next to Jared's lab; that route takes twenty minutes longer, I might add."

Charis shot her sibling an accusing glare. She had undergone how much extra anxiety during their journey, and for what?

Tired of saying sorry, Karissa communicated an apology in silence instead.

"Charis?" Doug pressed.

"Um, I honestly forgot about our discussion, Doug. We can reschedule for after I return from this mission, right?"

"Alright," he grumbled. Looking to Tash, he said, "Sorry for bothering you. I'll leave you to them for the present."

"Thank you." Bursting with irritation at the number of delays, the leader asked, "What about you, Pete? Why are you here?"

"I want to go with you on your mission, of course." Pete recovered the conversation from where he remembered leaving off. Apparently, this wasn't one of the times where he was aware that Himuro had taken over from him.

"My mission?" Tash raised an eyebrow. "Fine, if you want, you can team up with Charis and Karissa on their mission." Business-like, she addressed the sisters, "Which one of you has the better knowledge of the Midnighters trilogy?"

"That would be me," Karissa said with a scholarly air.

Tash deferred to the younger sister. "I guess you're the best-suited to lead this mission. I want you to enter the fandom in the time between Touching Darkness and Blue Noon, and you must try again to capture Lela and Viva."

Charis gritted her teeth upon hearing the Sues' names, and a pitying sort of look came into Karissa's eyes at the same time. The only one who wasn't affected personally by the announcement was, of course, Pete. He pounded one fist in his hand, and said, determinedly, "We'll do our best, Tash."

"Good luck, girls... and Pete." Before she lost her composure, Tash turned around and stifled a giggle. She hadn't intended for Pete to escort Charis and her sister, but now that she thought about it, she couldn't have orchestrated events any better herself.

T_T_T_T_T_T

"We left so quickly," Pete protested. "Is there a reason to be in such a hurry? I couldn't grab any gadgets besides what I'm wearing on me, which is my belt."

"You won't even need that," Karissa said dismissively, without any regard to the connotations other more twisted Agents might assign to her words.

Charis was the last to jump through the Plothole, and as she pocketed her Plothole Generator with one hand, she hoisted a bulky sack up on her shoulder with the other.

"Let me carry that for you," Pete offered.

"Okay," Charis agreed, but when their hands drew close, she let go of the bag a little too quickly. Her fingertips tingled as if a spark had run through them.

Pretending not to notice the same sensation, Pete commented, "Wow. That's a lot of metal. What's it all for?" He stared at the sheer quantity of metal that had been dumped over the ground when the sack opened up.

Karissa smiled broadly at something that had pleased her. "It's stainless steel. Steel and other advanced alloys are the most effective tools to fight the antagonists in this series. The Darklings are ancient creatures that were once the dominant species on the planet, but maybe because they're so old they hate anything new or considered 'technology'".

"We can just throw this stuff at them?" Pete asked sceptically.

"Don't worry, we have a plan." Whereas Karissa's words might not have reassured him, Charis' speech put a stop to his questions.

"Enjoy your welcome to the Secret Hour."

The Secret Hour, also known as the Blue Time, was limited to this town of Bixby, Oklahoma as far as anyone knew. True, at the end of Blue Noon it was suggested that the Secret Hour might have spread to other cities located at certain coordinates - it really had to do with the latitude and longitude being multiples of 12, a number strongly associated with the Darklings - but thankfully the series had never spawned the oh-so-popular money-making unplanned-sequel, and so the theory had never been confirmed.

The buildings of the small town of Bixby looked more or less as they should in a few hours' time – that is, in daytime – but in the light of the hidden 25th hour the surrounding area was awash in a mysterious blue not seen normally. There was an absence of polluting sound or movement as well, but that was as a result of the overall lack of humans out and about outdoors. According to canon only those born precisely at midnight could move around in the Blue Time. The Agents had freedom of movement because they'd each taken an Oneshot accurately in the split second during which they crossed over to the fandom.

Pete and Charis looked around wonderingly at the nightscape as they walked jaws ajar. Karissa seemed more nonplussed about the whole situation, and on top of that there was a fresh skip in her step.

"No fair! You've acquired the abilities of an Acrobat!" It hit Charis abruptly why her sister's jumping had struck her as strange. During the Blue Time, acrobats experienced reduced personal gravity, allowing them to jump dramatically farther and higher. They could appear to fly when they took a great, running jump.

Karissa smirked. "What skills do you and Pete have?"

Charis ran through a variety of mental exercises in her head. "I think I'm a Polymath," she said dejectedly. "Pete, what's the square root of 1024?"

"32," was his instant reply.

"You're a polymath too, Pete. All we have is the inherent aptitude for mathematics."

"Don't say that like it's a bad thing." The Agents spun around to the voice of Desdemona ("Dess"), the premier polymath of the series. Beside her were acrobat Jonathan Martinez and Flame Bringer Jessica Day. Jessica had been the primary protagonist in The Secret Hour, and she continued to carry a great importance throughout the rest of the series, although she was by no means more endearing than her other teammates. "I don't remember any gossip about new kids in town. Where are you from, Midnighters?"

Although there shouldn't be any reason for Dess to mistrust them – when it came to Midnighters, it was more like every new one that was discovered was cause for celebration – Karissa thought that, from the start, Dess' voice was guarded. Equally wary, she replied, "You're right, we come from out-of-town. We just happened to be visiting, and thought we'd stay through the Secret Hour." She told no lies, but there were gaping holes in her story, if Dess cared to find them.

Boldly, Jessica dropped her boyfriend's hand and stepped forward. "Are you the ones who kidnapped Rex and Melissa?" She held a heavy flashlight in her left hand, its beam on. Her power to bring technology into the Secret Hour was especially dangerous to Darklings, but she could damage the Agents too if she chose to swing the thing at their heads.

Charis spoke up immediately in their defence. "No! We don't know anything about any kidnappings!"

Jonathan made a move to recapture his girlfriend's hand. "Calm down, Jessica. They're not the ones responsible. The kidnappers I saw were two females, yeah, but one of them was an adult. They are just kids like us."

Hardly! Pete thought, but he didn't dispute the fact that he was actually 20.

*WHAM*

"Ow! W-what you just said. Rex and Melissa are missing?" Karissa forcefully took hold of the conversation and dragged it back on-topic, but she nursed a new bruise from the author's not-too-subtle nudging as she did so. "Why would Lela and Viva target main characters? Sues usually try to befriend canon characters; they don't get them out of the way."

"In my opinion, they are the strongest Midnighters. I didn't want them available to help you. If I could, I would have removed these three before you arrived, as well."

Following the trend she'd started in Insert Evident Demonic Contract Here (somewhere in transdimensional space, a tremor rocked the Library), Lela appeared as if from nowhere, and Viva stuck to the Sue like a second shadow. "Surprise! You've walked into a trap, Agents. Congratulations!"

Pete immediately passed a hand over his belt buckle, revealing a relief of a white dragonfly, and his Lightdrake armour covered his clothes. However, neither Karissa nor Charis moved to produce any weapons. Charis simply held out a hand to her sister. "A trap?"

Karissa slapped a five-dollar bill into her waiting palm. "Yeah, it was a trap. There, paid in full."

"How could you willingly walk into a trap, knowing it was here?" For a moment, Lela put aside her enmity for a tone of true puzzlement.

Karissa rolled her eyes. "If you're the one who springs the trap, you have to be at the centre of it. And how will I ever capture you if I don't come to the source of the trap– to you?"

Heavy silence emanated from the Sues' side. Lela flipped her short hair away from her face impatiently, and just like that the silence disappeared. "In any case, I've got you where I want you. Let's see you try to defeat a whole army of Darklings."

"How will you summon–" Karissa began. Before she'd finished speaking, Viva dropped to the ground, threw her head back, and began to morph. The lines separating the separate pieces of her clothing ran together – black on black – and her spine contorted dangerously. The Sue's arms and legs became heavily muscled, and with a terrible sound a long black tail uncoiled behind her. The transformed Sue was nothing more than a large cat, but she was frightening nonetheless.

"Voila! A makeshift Darkling. They alone can make their kind heed a call." Lela grinned madly. This time, when Viva reared her head, she let loose a deafening roar. Wing beats began to be heard in the sky, not far from where they all stood.

Jonathan spoke up mildly. "Besides the fact that we've found our kidnappers, and besides the fact that I just saw a human change into a cat – to think I thought what we do was pretty unbelievable – why do I get the feeling that things are about to get a lot more interesting?"

"Because you're right!" Karissa shouted. She tore the sack of metal from Pete's grasp, and began to rapidly distribute its contents to both Agents and characters. "I know you already have some weapons," she told the Midnighters. "They might have names as well, but we brought along a list of words ourselves, and now we don't have the time to compare vocabularies. Please take a part of our list, and use it anyways. Knowing Lela, I anticipate that a lot more Darklings than you're used to are on their way."

At the same time, Charis was explaining to Pete, "The materials that we use to fight Darklings have to be blessed with names; thirteen-letter words. Take a piece of steel in your hands, hold it to your lips, and call its name just like this." Charis near-kissed a two-pronged fork, uttering "Abbreviations," and in one fluid movement she turned and skewered a snake-like Slither on its end. "Got that memorized?" she asked him sweetly, and then she called to Karissa, "The cavalry has arrived!"

The initial scene of the battle was too chaotic to describe. Above the din, the oddest words were bellowed out: "Abiogenically!", "Abnormalities!", "Abolitionists!", and then some.

Anytime a Midnighter faced off against a Darkling, the human combatant won, albeit with some difficulty. However, for the first time that Karissa could remember, Lela immersed herself personally in the fight as well. Karissa came face-to-face with her fated rival with no little astonishment. "How do you think you're going to fight me?" she taunted the Sue, remembering their encounter in the DGray-man fandom where Lela's repertoire had consisted of various – yet functionally limited – blocks.

Lela thrust a hand out, and Karissa barely phased out of the visible spectrum in time to throw off her aim. Her invisibility didn't faze the Sue for more than a second though, and Lela reciprocated with another jab that arced through the air eerily close to her real location. "You've never tested the powers of a Pureblood have you?" Lela held back a laugh. She sent forth a barrage of wind that shouldn't have posed a threat to Karissa. The Agent moved to take a step out of the way, but against her will she walked into the attack. She cried out against the improbable pain of a slip of a breeze slicing into her skin like razors.

"My ability will not only distort your sense of balance and direction, but it will then cut you to the bone when you enter its embrace." Lela pushed more wind towards Karissa, and true to her word, Karissa felt more cuts open up all along her arms. "My empathetic connection wouldn't let me access my Pureblood powers before, but among other things, my demon is an unnaturally good teacher." Two paces away, Viva pounced upon Jonathan – still in her quasi-Darkling form – and when she spread her jaws she might have been smiling in response to her master's praise.

"Jonathan, no!" Charis distantly heard Jessica scream, and from the spot where she fought back-to-back with Pete, she came to realise that they were losing. The conclusion of this battle wouldn't turn out well for the Agents and their allies, unless good fortune intervened. "Pete, cover me!" she yelled, breaking the connection of their bodies. Fishing around in her pocket – no, the other pocket, she didn't want her Plothole Generator – Charis pulled out what appeared to be a Nike swoosh-shaped keychain. Pete cleared a path for her as she headed towards the centre of all the destruction.

Although no one paid her any mind, Charis still hesitated before she used her device. She didn't do so out of dramatic effect, but she wanted to make sure her sister wouldn't be hurt by what she was about to do. "Reality check!" she announced, as she hurled the keychain-object to the ground. Instantly, a visible Karissa stopped screaming in pain; Lela stared at her hands dumbly, at a loss to the reason why her powers had vanished; Viva shuddered before returning to a human form; last of all, Pete's armour disappeared without a trace.

"What did you do?" he asked in a panic. The struggle still raged on around them, and Pete raked a steel knife he still held down a Darkling's side, in the only way to ward it away from Charis. If the yowl it gave was any indication, enchanted metal was effective all the same.

"A reality check works in fandoms where the setting nearly parallels the real world. It causes any foreign invaders of the fandom to temporarily lose their powers, be they Agent or Sue," Charis panted. As she made her explanation, she too continued to brandish her canon weapons. "Any powers we brought in with us are nullified from this point on. We can only continue fighting with these weapons because the metal was powerless until we named it, and we did that after we entered the fandom."

Karissa caught on quick, although she hadn't heard Charis' full-length explanation. She staggered over to her fellow Agents, running rapidly through her remaining list of words and losing weapons in Darklings for every inch of ground she covered. Jessica had helped Jonathan recover from Viva's lunge, and the Midnighters were grouped together once more, just like the Agents. Dess hardly looked battle-weary at all as she nodded to Karissa, "Those two seem a bit shell-shocked by whatever you did. Should we finish off these Darklings before they snap back?" Of course, by 'those two' she meant Viva and Lela.

Karissa concurred whole-heartedly with Dess' strategy. Clutching the scrap of paper she had left, along with everyone she raised her voice and called the names of every weapon she possessed.

The Darkling forces stood no chance against the ultimate onslaught. Any live ones turned tail and fled, leaving the Sues and six humans standing in the shadow of their flight. When the sky had cleared, Karissa made herself turn to Lela, and she saw that she was being comforted by her demon and governess. Lela was crying. "I don't suppose you're ready to turn yourself in?" she enquired softly.

Lela raised a tear-streaked face, and answered defiantly, "Never!" Disgracefully, she threw her arms around Viva's neck, and while being carried she was spirited away by Viva.

"How long do you figure your Reality Check will last, Charis?"

"It won't hold out for five more minutes."

"So we've got five minutes to try and chase them down, or else they'll be gone. They'll be able to produce a Plothole at the same time we can."

"Yes."

Karissa set off first, and after watching her gain a decent head-start, Charis and Pete thought to go as well. "Goodbye, Jess, Dess, Jonathan," Charis politely made their goodbyes. "In five minutes you won't remember any of this. Rex and Melissa will be at the edge of town being embarrassingly romantic as usual. Go find them." She and Pete left before the Midnighters could find any words to express how they felt. Maybe that was best.

T_T_T_T_T_T

"Is this how your missions normally end? I mean, I have a strange rival in Anuhs Weedy, but compared to Lela his motivation seems almost sane." Pete was walking Charis back to her lab, which served as her bedroom whenever she was Inside. They walked closely so that their hands practically touched, but they wouldn't hold hands while others about might see.

"I maintain that Lela is a nutcase because she wants to kill me and Karissa, but she can't because she's related to us," Charis said shortly. She wavered between disdain and compassion for the Sue, right in front of his eyes. "If only Lela weren't so pig-headed. Our Author put her into a comfortable retirement when she decided to stop writing Lela's story, but she treated that the same as if she'd been tossed into the Vault of Abandoned Ideas. Both Karissa and Lela hunger for Cay's affection so much that it skews their perception entirely."

"Oh?" Pete didn't say anything more for a while. Eventually he wanted to suggest to Charis that they talk about something else, but they'd already arrived in front of her door in the Science corridor.

"Thanks for coming today, Pete," Charis said tiredly. "You really didn't have to."

"But I wanted to." When Charis opened the door to go inside, he belatedly called her back. "Charis?" With her searching eyes gazing straight at him, he deliberately stuck his head into her room and kissed her. He took advantage of the closing door to shield them from view. "I wouldn't mind going on other missions with you, some time," he mouthed against her lips.

Charis brushed brilliantly. "Off with you now. G-goodnight."

Insert Fast Car Here

Pete was sitting in the Sue monitor room. He had been put on monitor duty, since there hadn't been anything for him to do in the fandoms, ever since he returned from the Ironman fandom, and he was bored out of his mind. Therefore, he had let Himuro take over, and now he was sitting in front of the screen, fiddling with what looked like a detonator, with a battery pack, and a timer attached.

Suddenly, an alarm went off on the monitor, indicating that a Sue had been found "Well, it was fun while it lasted." Himuro said, and tightened the last screw on the device, before he put his classes and the device back in one of his pockets, before closing his eyes to switch back to Pete.

"Okay, what have we here?" Pete asked himself, after regaining his senses, and turning off the alarm. He began typing in commands, that brought up the name of the fandom "Tash, I've found some." Pete yelled, after confirming the fandom, and the number of Sues in it.

"Great, how many are there, and where are they." Tash asked, running over to Pete, and looking over his shoulder.

"From what I can see, there are 4 of them, and they are in the Cannonball run fandom." Pete said as he looked the 4 signatures on the screen, of which 1 of them looked a little different. He suddenly realized what he had just read, and added "Cool.".

Tash looked from the screen to Pete and asked "Do you know this fandom?".

"Yeah, it's one of my favorite movies from the 80s." Pete said.

"Then go to your room, and pack your gear, I'll meet you in the library, together with the agents, who'll be assisting you." Tash said, and started walking over to her own computer, to check for available agents for the mission.

"Yes ma'am." Pete said and turned off the scanner, and went to his room.

-

Pete exited through a plothole into a desert area together with his 2 partners. The first one being Doug, and the other being Marcus. Pete immediately looked at his clothes. He was wearing a pair of slightly tight jeans, a white shirt, a thin leather jacket, white sneakers, and a cowboy hat "I feel right at home in this movie already." Pete said, and though the clothes wasn't his favorite, he actually thought he looked pretty good in it.

"People wear this?" Doug asked. He was dressed in an outfit, similar to the one Pete was wearing, only the shirt was green, he also had his knife attached to his belt, and a rifle over his shoulder. Marcus was dressed in a grey and black, gangster like outfit.

"Welcome to my world." Pete said. Just then, a black Lamborghini came speeding by, with a herd of police cars behind it.

"What was that?" Marcus asked.

"That was the beginning of the movie." Pete said. He then noticed 3 cars only a few feet away from them. He waved his fellow agents with him, as he started walking over to them.

All 3 cars were Trans ams, and each was painted with a different pattern on them. The first was painted gold and silver, with a white dragonfly, and a black grasshopper, in a circle pattern, on the hood. The second was camouflage colored, with every color that the military uses. The third and last was painted in soft red, yellow, and purple colors, with the Storm Hawks character Junko painted on the hood.

Pete saw a note stuck to the windscreen, of the gold and silver Trans am. He picked it up and read out loud "Here you go boys, a nice set of wheels for all of you. Do your best, and show those Sues who's boss, the Author."

There was quiet for a moment, before Marcus asked "So, where do we go from here?"

"I'd suggest we go to the cannon ball pub, and sign up for the race." Pete said, and jumped into the driver seat of the silver, and gold car, and was gladly surprised to see that the car had a radio, so he could communicate with his team mates. He turned the radio on, and picked up the caller, "Darkhopper calling Military man and Clip shades, you good to go, over?" Pete said, with a slightly Texan accent.

"10 4 Darkhopper, I am, over." Doug answered back, imitating the same accent.

"Uhm, yeah, I'm ready." Marcus said, only getting the basic of what the other 2 was saying.

"Alright, let's get to the inn, as quick as we can." Pete said as he turned the key to start the engine, and soon, the 3 cars was zooming down the highway towards the cannon ball pub.

-

"Wow, I can't believe I'm actually here." Pete said excitedly, as he looked at the motel, he and his 2 partners had parked in front of.

"Can I ask you why you're so exited?" Doug asked.

"Well, it's just that, I've loved this movie, since I was a child, and I've always wanted to see this place for real." Pete said in a more calm voice.

Suddenly, a pickup truck came into the parking lot at high speed. It looked like the driver tried to stop the vehicle, but couldn't. The car did a few turns, before it smashed into the front doors of the motel. Doug and Marcus was about to run in and see if anyone had been hurt, when Pete said "Don't bother, no one's been hurt. Come, let's go register."

When they passed the doors though, Marcus and Doug couldn't help but looking inside the lobby, just to make sure no one actually hadn't been hurt. They were relieved to see that no one had been hurt. The only one who had been close to being hurt, was a guy who had been knocked unconscious by the truck, and who was now being awakened with a splash of water to the face.

After registering, the 3 agents went into the motel, and got rooms for the night. After inspecting their rooms, they went into town, to buy supplies for the trip. When night finally fell, they went down to the bar to get some drinks, and talk plans for the coming morning "Okay, you're the guy who knows all about this fandom, so what's the plan?" Marcus asked Pete.

"Well, I'm assuming that the Sues are here to participate in the race…"

"And you're absolutely right." A familiar voice said from the table, across form where the 3 agents was sitting. They looked in the direction of the voice, to find Anuhs Weedy, Beautirix in a white miniskirt, top, and high heels, a Sue with floor long, fire red hair and silver eyes, and a Stu with spiky, golden hair, and equally golden eyes. The Sue was wearing a short, ruby red dress with matching high heels. The Stu was dressed in a green T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and cowboy boots.

"How predictable. Now, will you tell us what you're here?" Pete asked.

"As if, 'cause in a few seconds, you'll all be dead." Anuhs said as he raised from his chair, and cracked his knuckles.

"Before you do that, let me make a suggestion." Pete said in a fit of panic.

Anuhs exhaled and sat down again and said "Okay, let me hear it.".

Thinking very quickly, Pete said "How about we, uh, make the race our battlefield, whenever one of you meets one of us and vice versa, either one can challenge the other to a duel. How does that sound to you?"

"That is the stupidest idea I have ever…" Beautirix managed say before Anuhs cut her off.

"Shut up Angelina." Anuhs said to the Sue, before he turned his attention to Pete and continued "I think it's a brilliant idea. In fact, I have an improvement for your idea, but I'll reveal that for you tomorrow." Anuhs and his posse left their table, and started heading for their rooms.

Pete raised from his own seat, and said "Anuhs, can I ask you one question."

"What is it?" Anuhs asked.

"Why did you call Beautirix, Angelina?".

"Because that's her name, Angelina Beautiri Falburo the 99th. Why, are you in love with her?" Anuhs asked back with an evil smile on his face.

"Screw you, I was just curious, now buzz of." Pete said in an annoyed tone, and gave the Gary-Stu a very impolite hand gesture. Anuhs and the other Sues just laughed, and walked off.

"Man I hate him." Pete said as he sat down again.

"I know how you feel, what is his problem anyway?" Doug asked.

"He seems to have gotten the idea that if he kills me, he kills me and Joes author." Pete said, and took a sip of his drink.

"He's that crazy?" Marcus asked, and also took a sip of his drink.

"Yep." Pete said.

"Hey watch out, watch OUUUUUUT." A voice suddenly yelled, and a man came flying down the stairs on a motorcycle.

"Is everyone just crazy around here?" Marcus asked.

"Nah, the really crazy ones left a minute ago." Pete said and finished his drink.

-

Morning came, and the 3 society agents was getting ready for the race. Pete was sitting in his room, thinking about why the Sues he was hunting had stopped warping the fandoms they entered. It was as if they had bigger plans than just becoming the most respected person in a fandom. After doing some careful thinking, he decided to tap into the universal knowledge, he had received from the indigo child. He sat down on his bed, and closed his eyes. At first, nothing happened, then suddenly he found himself standing in what looked like the universe, with galaxies, stars and planets flying by him. Pete looked around, and saw a huge screen behind him. As he walked up to the screen, it turned on and a face appeared on it. It was the face of Jade.

"Hello, receiver of the knowledge of the universe, what do you wish to know?" The face asked.

"I wish to know what it is the Sues I'm hunting is after." Pete said. Jades head nodded, and a sudden flash of light came from the screen. Pete rubbed his eyes and looked around. He was standing on a small piece of land in the middle of nowhere.

He suddenly heard someone speak, and he quickly looked around to see who it was. He saw Anuhs speaking to someone in the shadows. Pete walked a little closer to the two, not sure if they would see him or not. When they didn't, he walked all the way up to them and listened to what they were saying "So you have actually discovered a way to send Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus to the real world, without them loosing their powers?" Anuhs asked.

"Yes, but I can't leave this place, because of the spell my author put on me, but once the machine is completed, I can get rid of the spell that's holding me here, and finally get my revenge." The last word from the shadow sounded almost happy.

After the last word had been spoken, Pete was surrounded by light once again, and when he opened his eyes, he was back in his room "Wow, what a rush." Pete said, he got off his bed, grabbed his hat and jacket, and started to walk downstairs to meet up with Doug and Marcus.

-

The 3 agents was checking their cars, getting them ready for the trip. It seemed that the fandom had given them knowledge on the cars they had. After checking the cars, Doug asked "So, who else is driving in this race, Pete?"

"Well, I guess I can point out the most important drivers." Pete said. He pointed at an ambulance, where 2 men, dressed in medic driver uniforms, were talking, one of them was thin, and the other was chubby "That's J.J. McClure and Victor Prinzim, not much to say about them, except that victor has an alter ego called Captain Chaos, who he pulls out when he wants to act heroic."

Pete then pointed at a Rolls-Royce where an Arabian looking man was standing with 2 bodyguards "And that's the Sheik. He thinks he has the fastest car in the world, and he wants to prove it here in the race."

The next car to be pointed at was a red Ferrari, where a small black man, and a normal sized white man, dressed as priests, was arguing about something "And here we have Fenderbaum and Blake, they've put 20.000 dollars on themselves with stakes 50 to 1, so if they win they walk away with 1 million dollars."

The last car Pete pointed at was actually the Lamborghini that had passed them when they arrived in the fandom "And lastly, we have Jill and Marcie. They're just here for the thrill of the race, but they are pretty important to the storyline of the movie."

The 3 agents suddenly noticed Angelina walking towards them with some maps under her arm. She stopped a few feet away from them, and held the maps out to them, at arms length "Here." She said with a sour expression on her face.

"What's this?" Pete asked as he accepted the maps, and gave one to the other 2 agents.

"It's Anuhs brilliant idea, he set up fight points for us to meet at and beat each other up." Angelina said. Pete, Doug and Marcus looked at the maps, and sure enough, along the road to L.A. little X'es had been put to indicate the fight points "Well, bye." Angelina said and started to walk away from the agents.

"Wait." Pete said.

"What is it?." Angelina asked and turned around.

"How did you end up with an idiot like Anuhs. I mean he's not exactly your type, as far as I remember from the Asterix fandom?"

"He gave an offer that I simply couldn't say no to." Angelina said and walked away.

"Yeah, an offer you couldn't refuse." Pete said as he put the map in his car, and pulled out a soda.

-

Finally, evening came, and everyone who was participating in the cannonball race, was very exited about the coming event. One of the officials gathered everyone around and held a short speech about the race, and then send the first car off. Doug, Marcus and Pete went to their cars to discuss the last few details of their route. Just as they finished, Anuhs came walking over to them and said "Good luck with the race, and may the best and most perfect win." He finished the sentence with a grin that clearly showed his rotting teeth.

"Well then, I'll make sure to visit you in the holding cells, when we've prohibited you and your posse." Pete said, and smiled mockingly back.

"We'll see." Anuhs said and walked away again.

Pete turned to his fellow agents and said "Well, let's get this show on the road." Doug and Marcus nodded, and they jumped into their cars, waiting for it to be their turn.

Finally, one by one, they were called to the starting line, where they punched out and drove off into the night. By morning the met up at a gas station, where they got a bite to eat, before getting on the road again, with Pete at the back as a blocker, a person who could distract the police when they ran into them. (Trust me, in this movie, cops are everywhere.)

They soon did, and while Doug and Marcus got away, Pete did everything he could to get rid of the cops. During a sharp turn, the small machine, that Himuro had made back at the society, flew out of his pocket, and landed on the seat beside him. He picked it up and looked at it for a moment, wondering what it was, before he turned his attention back to the road and the cops. He put the pedal to the metal and put good deal of road between him and the police. He looked at the detonator looking device again, and made a quick decision to give it a try.

He pulled over, held up the machine, and said to himself "I sure hope, this is something good, Himuro."

He pressed the button, and a mechanical voice said "GENDER BENDING INITIATED, TRANSFORMATION WILL LAST FOR TEN MINUTES." The timer set itself to 10:00, and a quick flash of light came from the top of the machine.

"What was that?" Pete asked himself, however, his voice came out as that of a woman. He quickly took a look in the rearview mirror, only to see that his cowboy clothes had been replaced with a suit like the ones that Jill and Marcie had on, only his was green and white. His hair had become a little longer, and his body had become that of a woman. Pete took a look in the side mirror, and saw an officer nearing the car.

Pete quickly remembered how Jill and Marcie got rid of cops, so he zipped down the suit to expose himself, in the hopes that it would distract the police man, so he could get away from the scene, without a ticket, and the trick actually worked, and soon after, Pete was on the road again, trying to catch up to Doug and Marcus. He picked up the radio, and called his fellow agents "Doug, Marcus, are you there?"

"Who's this?" Marcus asked.

"Well, you might not believe this, but this is Pete."

"How can it be you, when you have a woman's voice?" Doug asked.

"You just gonna have to…" The timer on the Genderbender reached 0 and Pete was returned to his original self without knowing it, as he continued with his normal voice "Believe me.".

"Okay, how did you do that." Marcus asked, in a very confused tone of voice.

"One of Himuros little inventions, it switched my gender somehow, that's why my voice sounded different." Pete said, and held up the device "Anyway, how far are from me, I'm at highway marker…" He looked at the road, to see a marker with the number 68 written on it "68, what about you." He continued.

There was a small break, before Doug came on and said "We're at marker 69, and nearing the first fight point."

"Okay, I'll meet you there, as fast as I can." Pete said and hung up, and put the pedal to the metal to catch up with his fellow agents. Upon arriving at the fight point, Marcus was already locked in battle with the unnamed Sue of Anuhs' posse. Pete jumped out of his car and walked up to Doug "Did I miss much?" Pete asked

"Not all that much." Doug said and turned his attention back to the fight going on.

Marcus was doing pretty well, considering that he was fighting Sue. He used the Tiger talisman, around his neck, to split into emotion Marcus and thought Marcus. Thought Marcus used enchanted umbrellas to block the Sues attacks, which consisted of her hauling fireballs at the Marcuses, and making herself into metal, and use her nails for close combat. Emotion Marcus used the swords hidden in the umbrellas to attack at any given opportunity.

Thought Marcus suddenly noticed that the Sue was wearing a silver ring on her right hand, and a gold one on her left, and that she clenched her fists every time she used her powers "H-h-hey, d-d-destroy the r-rings. I-i-it will c-c-cause her t-t-to lose her p-p-powers!" Thought Marcus yelled to his emotion counterpart.

"Alright!" Emotion Marcus yelled back and started going for the rings, instead of the Sue. At first, he tried to cut off the fingers of the Sue, but due to her Sue powers, she easily dodged his attacks, and quickly counterattacked. From time to time, thought Marcus would step in an block an attack for his emotion counterpart. This continued for a good deal of time, before with a very lucky shot, emotion Marcus managed to actually cut through the ring on the Sues right hand, before getting kicked away by the Sue.

The Sue looked down at her finger, as what was left of the ring turned into dust. She then looked angrily at Marcus, who was getting up from the kick, before clenching her fist, flames surrounding her. The angry look turned into a smile, before she gathered all the fire around her into one big ball in her hand, which she then threw at emotion Marcus.

At the last second however, thought Marcus managed to get in front his counterpart, and blocked the attack with the umbrellas "G-g-go get her." Thought Marcus said to emotion Marcus, who nodded and ran around the shielding umbrellas with direction towards the Sue. He quickly reached the Sue, and after a few tries, he managed to cut off the other ring. After that, emotion Marcus quickly put a Prohibitor on the Sue and opened a plothole back to the society, which he then pushed her through.

"1 down, 3 to go." Emotion Marcus bellowed, before combining with his thought counterpart once again.
"So what, you still have to capture 3 of us, before you can call it a full load. And trust me, you won't." Anuhs said before he, Angelina, and the unnamed Stu walked back to their cars, and drove off to the next fight point.

"I guess we better get going as well." Pete said. Doug and Marcus nodded, and they soon left the place. Not long after, they made a stop at a gas station, to refuel, restock their supplies and get something to eat. It was also here that Pete told his fellow agents about the Genderbender.

"So this little thing will change your gender and outfit for 10 minutes?" Doug asked as he looked the small, homemade invention over.

"Yeah, at least in this fandom. I don't know how long it would work in another fandom, let alone in the library." Pete answered before taking a sip from his soda.

"But how did you make this?".

"I didn't, Himuro did.".

Who's Himuro?" Marcus asked.

"He's my other personality." Pete said, and started to explain who Himuro was.

The 3 agents was soon on the road again, this time with Marcus as the blocker. The 3 agents had agreed, that the one who was blocker, was to be armed with the Genderbender, in case the police showed up. So Pete had handed the invention over to Marcus before their departure.

Pete thought that the rest of the trip would be just them capturing the Sues, and then go back to the library, and do whatever they wanted to do. But as he was listening to some music on the radio, a rainbow colored portal suddenly opened in front of him "This doesn't happen in the movie." Pete got out, before he drove through the portal. It felt like driving through water, but without the 'getting wet' part. Pete drove to the side of the road, and looked back at the portal, which was disappearing into the ground again "What on earth was that?" He asked himself.

"I'll give you three guesses." A voice said beside him.

Petes head spun faster than the wheels on a formula 1, to see who had talked to him. It was a man, dressed in a WWII style uniform, he also had a military style helmet modeled after a grasshopper, and around his waist, was a crude looking, electronic belt, making him look like a prototype rider "Who are you?" Pete asked in disbelief.

"The name's Jessie Arc, aka Warhopper." Jessie said.

"Aha, and where are you from?" Pete asked as he sat back in his seat.

"I'm from our authors mind." Jessie said and pulled his seat back, so he could put his feet on the dash board.

"So you're one of his thoughts made real, and he's send you to help us, am I right about that?" Pete asked as he started the car up again.

"Yeah, but how do you know?".

"Let's just say, I know how he's thinking." Pete said before putting the pedal to the metal and drove off to make up for the lost time. Pete and Jessie soon caught up to Doug and Marcus, and after a brief introduction, they drove the last couple of miles to the fight point, where they, not surprisingly were greeted by Anuhs and his posse.

"Okay, let's get this over with." Anuhs said, and nodded to the unnamed Stu, who stepped out, cracking his knuckles in the process.

"So, who wanna take care of this one?" Pete asked.

"I'll take him." Doug said, walking onto the field, drawing his knife as he did, and morphing it into his sword. The Stu didn't seem the least bit intimidated, in fact, he just stood there, not saying a word, or cracking any jokes "You're pretty quiet, aren't you." Doug said.

The Stu just barred his teeth, and suddenly, his hair started rising, like it had become static, and electricity was visibly trailing over his skin and hair. The Stu whipped out his right hand, and a bolt of lightning shot from it.

The bolt hit its target, which was Doug's sword, sending a shock through him. With help from his halfling powers, he quickly got back to his feet, transformed his sword back into a knife, and instead grabbed his rifle, and started shooting at the Stu.

The Stu however, made an electric field around himself, and melted the bullets before they could hit him. At last Doug gave on hurting the Stu through use of his rifle, and turned back to using his knife, not transforming it this time, in CQC (Close quarters combat) which actually worked very well, because the Stu discharged his electricity a lot faster when he was fighting someone up close, and it also took him longer to charge up his energy. But his hand-to-hand combat skills was far better than Doug's, so even though Doug was good when it came to knife fighting, it was still hard to land any punches on the Stu.

As Doug was doing his best to fight the Stu, Pete had gotten an idea for how to get a prohibitor on the Stu. He found a block of paper and a pen in his pocket, and quickly scribbled down a few words, and waited for the right moment to give it to Doug. At last, the Stu punched Doug hard enough, to send him flying. He landed in front of Pete, who helped him up, and as he did, he slipped him the note, and whispered in his ear "Read the note, when he attacks." Doug nodded, and out on the field again, while unfolding the note.

The Stu had charged up for another attack, and as he was about to throw another bolt of electricity, when Doug read the note "Big lipped alligator moment." A flash of light came, together with a puff sound, and suddenly, the surroundings was filled with yodeling music. Everybody looked around, and what met them was the Stu, dressed in a tutu, lederhosen and a sombrero, while he was dancing a ballet "What the hell is that." Was all that Doug could say.

"It's a big lipped alligator moment, it's basically a moment in a movie, that's over the top, has nothing to do with the story and no one wants to talk about afterwards. But let's talk about it later, put a prohibitor on him before the moment ends." Pete yelled. Doug nodded, and quickly clamped a prohibitor on the Stus wrist, before he sent him through a plothole, back to the society.

"Well, I guess that was that, we'll see you at the…" Anuhs didn't get to finish the sentence, before the Sues cars was blown up by Pete, who had activated his Lightdrake suit, and was now standing with his laser guns in his hands.

"No, we will not see you at the next spot, 'cause we're taking you down, and back to the society right now." Pete said. He and Jessie started walking towards the Sues, while Doug and Marcus readied 2 prohibitors to put on them when the time was right. Jessie had taken out 2 very long knifes, for him to fight with, plus, he had spun a disk that was installed in the buckle on his belt, which activated 2 Teslacoils on the belt, and started producing electricity.

Anuhs looked from the 2 riders, to the cars and back again, before he said "Angelina, take care of them, I'll get the parts." Angelina nodded, and started engaging in a hand to hand combat with Pete and Jessie. Anuhs hurried over to the remains of the car, and started looking in what was left of the trunks. He became very happy, when he discovered that the contents of the trunks, hadn't been destroyed. He quickly opened a plothole, and started throwing the tech parts through it.

Angelina proved to a tough opponent, she was easily taking on the 2 riders in brutal fist fight. Jessie and Pete did their best to defend themselves against the onslaught of punches and kicks, that was coming from the Sue. The riders tried to get her by doing a double attack, but Angelina knew how deal with that sort thing. She did a quick handstand, and spread her legs, making Pete and Jessie run straight into her feet, knocking the air out of them. Angelina then continued the attack by rotating, before sending the 2 riders flying. She giggled as she stood up and said "I thought you were good at fighting Pete, but you're nothing.".

"Or else you're just an idiot." Pete said as he and Jessie up "Mind giving me a bust?" Pete asked Jessie.

"Not at all." Jessie said as he folded his hands so Pete could stand up in it.

"Now what're you gonna do, acrobatics?" Angelina asked mockingly.

"Something like it." Pete said, before Jessie launched him into the air. While in the air, he drew his laser guns and started firing at the ground around the Sue, creating a dust cloud. This gave Jessie an opportunity to make a sliding, electrical tackle, which both shocked her and made her fall to the ground.

"Let's do this." Jessie said and gave the disk in his belt a more powerful spin, giving the Teslacoils even more power.

"Right." Pete replied and opened the buckle on his belt, making electricity travel from the lens to his foot. The 2 riders ran up to Angelina and kicked her while she was still dizzy from their earlier attack.

She landed near Anuhs, who was throwing the last tech part through the plothole. She slowly got to her feet and asked him "Are you done.".

Anuhs turned to Angelina and said with a perfect, evil smile on his face "Yes, and so are you." He took hold on Angelina, and threw her into the incoming society agents "Hope you enjoy your stay in the slammer tuts, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha." Anuhs said before jumping into the plothole, still laughing like crazy.

"I'll get back at you Weedy, you son of a bitch, I swear it!" Angelina yelled, as Doug clamped a prohibitor onto her wrist.

-

"So Anuhs Weedy got away, by throwing one of his own at you?" Tash asked, and looked up from the report, to the 4 people standing in front of her.

"Yes, but maybe we have a chance to know where he will strike next." Pete said.

"Aha, how?".

"Angelina, the one Anuhs threw after us, seems willing to betray him, after the way he treated her. So maybe if, maybe I talked to her a little, we could get one step ahead of the enemy." Pete suggested.

Tash seemed to think about the suggestion for a moment, before she said "Do it. We need all the help we can get, and if a Sue is willing to betray one of its own, it will only be to our advantage." Pete nodded, before he, Doug, Marcus and Jessie started walking out of the office "By the way Pete." Tash said.

"Yes." Pete said as he stopped at in the door, and turned to look at the society leader.

"What are you going to do about that character, your author send to help you out?".

"I guess he could crash in my room while he's here."

"Good, it's just so we know where we have him." Tash said, before going back to work. Pete nodded and started to walk towards the holding cells.

-

Angelina looked up as she heard the door to her cell open. It was Pete and Jessie who walked into the cell. Jessie was carrying a chair for himself, and Pete was carrying one for himself, and one for Angelina. Pete sat his chairs down, and gestured for Angelina to sit on one of them, which she did "What're you doing down here?" She asked.

"As weird as it may sound, we need your help." Pete said as he also sat down.

"The society, needs my help?" Angelina asked, surprised.

"You might be the only one who knows where Anuhs will surface next time. And you did say you wanted to get back at him, and well, here is your chance.".

"And what do I get out of it, I don't suppose you could…".

"No, even if I wanted to, I couldn't just take off the prohibitor, and let you escape. But maybe there is something I can do.".

"And that is?".

"I'll have to talk to somebody about it first, but if you give me the info I need, I'll do everything in my power to get you out, deal?" Pete asked, and held out a hand.

Angelina looked at the hand for a moment, before she finally took it and said "Deal, I don't exactly have much to loose." Angelina then told Pete which fandom Anuhs would pop up in next.

-

After telling Tash where to search for Anuhs, and showing Jessie where his room was, Pete opened the door to his room. He had to talk to his author personally, not just through a computer screen, and so he had made a quick decision, to take a trip to his authors mind world. He reached in between 2 bookcases, and pulled out a book, that was almost as big as he was. The book had a slot on the front, with 8 circles around it, making it look like some sort of code lock. He took the book under his arm, and went out of the room, heading in the direction of the library.

Pete was in such a hurry, to get to the library, that he didn't notice Charis coming around a corner, and crashed into her, falling on top of her.

"Hey, watch it." Charis said harshly. She then noticed who it was, and a light blush came to her cheeks.
"I'm sorry." Pete said, also sporting a slight blush. He got of Charis, and helped her up.

Charis said dusted herself off and asked "Where were you going in such a hurry?".

"I can't really tell you, I, I gotta go." Pete said, and quickly walked off, still a little red around the cheeks.
Charis looked after Pete for a moment, before she started walking her own way. She suddenly noticed something laying on the floor, which hadn't been there before. She picked it up, and what do you know, it was the gender bender "Pete must have dropped this, I better find him and give it back." Charis said to herself and started walking in the direction Pete had.

Pete entered an empty part of the library (Yeah, it's farfetched, but he had to go somewhere for Charis to follow). He went all the way to the back of the room, and put the book on a table. He then pulled the side of the books cover, to reveal a hidden compartment, in which a glowing blue, credit card like object was hidden. He took out the card, and closed the compartment. He then put the card into the slot, and started turning it, like you would on a safe.

Meanwhile, Charis had entered the same part of the library. She had seen the Pete walk in there at the last second, and followed him inside. She found him at the end of the room, messing around with the book, he had with him, but she couldn't clearly see what he was doing. She walked a few steps closer and asked "What're you doing Pete?".

Pete had just made the last turn of the dial, when he heard Charis talking to him. He quickly turned to tell her to go away, but it was too late. The book started glowing, and the card was absorbed into the book. The book opened and surrounded Pete and Charis with blue light, before sucking them both into it. The book closed up and disappeared also. The book reappeared in a very futuristic building, where it simply opened and spread its blue light across the floor, and made Pete and Charis reappear again.

Pete groaned as he stood up "I hate this way of traveling." He suddenly remembered Charis, and went over to check on her "Charis, are okay?" He asked.

Charis looked up at Pete with a mix of being surprised and sick "What happened, and why do I feel so sick?"

"I guess it's because we just got sucked/squeezed into another world." Pete said as he helped Charis sit up against the wall "You want something to drink?" Pete asked.

Charis nodded, and Pete went over to a vending machine, and soon came back with a couple of sodas. They stayed like this for a few minutes, until Charis felt well enough to stand up "So, where are we?" She asked, as she looked out one of the window, at the futuristic city.

"We're in my authors mind world." Pete said, and also looked out the window.

"It's really beautiful.".

"Yeah, it is." Pete looked at his watch and said "We better get going." He picked up the book, and went over to a disk that was floating in the middle of the room. He touched the disk, and a map, made out of rings appeared. He quickly aligned the rings, so they created a path to where his author was. The map was absorbed into the disk, and a section of the wall opened to reveal a tube with some sort of electronic rings around it "This way." Pete said as he started walking towards the tube.

"What is that?" Charis asked in awe as she looked at the tube.

"It's an A.G. tube, it's the transport system of this city." Pete said and jumped into the tube, where he stopped in midair, and stayed there "You coming, Charis?" He asked.

Charis nodded, and also jumped into the tube, where Pete instructed her to do a swimming motion, through the first ring. She did so, and when they passed through the ring, they were shot through the tube, as if out of a cannon. As they passed through the tube, Charis looked at the city and all its futuristic technology (You know, hover cars, robots, that sort of thing) and asked "Where do the city get its power from?"

"From the underground, they pump magma up from the earth, let it go under huge boilers, which boils the water in those boilers, the steam goes through a turbine, which makes the electricity, the city needs." Pete explained.

They were about to exit the tube, when Charis asked "Uh, Pete, how you stop this thing?".

"Don't worry." Pete said. At that moment, they were shot out of the tube, and landed in a pool of what looked and felt like jelly.

"Ew, what on earth is this?" Charis asked as she took a handful of the green, jelly like substance, and looked at it.

"It's called jell protect, and even though it looks like jelly, don't eat it, unless you wanna spend all day tomorrow in the bathroom." Pete said as he got out of the pool, and helped Charis out as well. After a short walk, Pete and Charis stopped in front of a huge set of doors "You better stay here, if you want to you can use the computer over there to go on the internet." Pete said and pointed at the computer a little away from them. Charis nodded, and went over to the computer. Pete went over to the doors, and opened a normal size door in one of the big ones, and went inside.

"What're you doing here?" The author asked as he got out of the bed he was laying on, putting a on it as he did so.

"I had to talk to you personally, I didn't want anyone eavesdrop on me while I talked to you." Pete said as he walked closer to his author.

"Well then, sit down." The author said, and gestured to 2 comfortable leather chairs. The both sat down, and the author asked "So, what was it you wanted to talk to me about Pete?"

"Well, you see…" Pete started to tell the author about what had happened in the Cannonball run fandom, and in Angelinas cell "So, you think you could do something for Angelina, and help us out in the next fandom?" Pete asked.

"I will see what I can do, but I will do something, I just have to find the right things. But take this and click it when something comes up." The author handed Pete a beacon, which looked like a round piece of metal, with a single button, and a small light attached to it.

"I will, and thanks." Pete said, and put the beacon in his pocket.

"Hey, if I didn't help the things I create, what kind of author would I be." The author said, as he got out of the chair, and walked back to the bed. Once there, he turned and said "Good luck Pete."

"Thank you, author." Pete said, and started walking to the door. When he reached the door, he looked back at the author, who lied down on the bed and started reading again. Pete just smiled, and walked out of the room.

-

The portal book reappeared in the empty part of the library, and spat out Charis and Pete. After catching their breath, Pete quickly said "Well, I better get back." And started walking out of the room with the book under his arm.

"Wait." Charis exclaimed. Pete turned around, and looked at her. Charis took out the Genderbender and said "You dropped this when we bumped into each other, that's why I followed you."

"Gee, thanks Charis." Pete said and returned to take the piece of equipment with him. But when he wrapped his hand around the device, he also wrapped it around Charis' hand, making them both blush. As they stood like this, Pete was thinking 'Oh god, why do this always happen when we accidentally touch, why, why. Could it be that I've come to love her, after that time where Marcus embarrassed us, no, could it, I'm not sure, I gotta do something, do something Pete, do something.'

As if on instinct, Pete slipped his other hand around Charis' neck, and pulled her into a deep, loving kiss. They stood like this for a few, long moments, before Pete realized what he was doing. He broke the kiss, and pulled away from Charis "I, I'm sorry." Pete said sheepishly, almost expecting a slap on the cheek from Charis.

"Don't be." Charis said, with a smile on her face "If you hadn't done it, I might have. I guess we both have developed feelings for each other."

Pete smiled at what Charis was saying. He then pulled Charis into another kiss, and once they finished, he asked her "So, do you think we should let the others know?".

"Let's keep them guessing for a little while longer, it'll much more fun to see the reaction when they find out." Charis said. Pete nodded. They then said goodbye to each other, and left the room, going in a different direction.
